Scottish restaurants don’t tend to get as much attention as some of the more celebrated European cuisines in London. Sophisticated that those restaurants ostensibly appear, I am a firm believer that food from this little island we call Britain can rival any cuisine in the world and so, I was excited at finally experiencing some Scottish hospitality for the first time right here in Fitzrovia.

As one of the foodie capital of the world, London pretty much has you covered. But with Peruvian cuisine pretty well established already in London, what can Pachamama East bring to the table in a part of London that’s seen it all (or so East-Enders would like to think)?

Flying the flag for Israel
I’d be hard pressed to think of an Israeli restaurant I can recommend. For me, London’s Jewish restaurant doesn’t excite, many stuck in kosher’s past and up against the behemoths of London’s food scene including Thai, Chinese and Italian. But finally, I think Palomar are changing the way we Londoner’s see Israeli food.
Where do you go if you get a sudden craving for deep dish pizza or waffles? A surprisingly tricky question especially when you consider London to be one of the world’s foodie capital. But I’ve finally found an answer and it’s one that has made bustling Soho its home.
Fusion restaurants intrigue me for its ability to create some truly unique dishes by combining two cuisines. MOMMI in Clapham in south London is such restaurant, marrying Japanese flair with Peruvian flavours. Only a short walk away from either Clapham station on the Northern Line, the hip interiors and warm lighting provided an opulent glow inside.
